Calling all new mums – if you’re feeling in need of a bit of a pampering and bonding session, head for Mamaheaven, which runs three-day retreats at the heavenly Penrhos Court Organic Hotel in Herefordshire. Here, while your baby is looked after by trained childminders, you and a small group of new mums (dads get to stay at home and watch TV!) take part in yoga sessions in a converted barn with a roaring fire, have a massage or chiropractic session, feast on superb organic food (the Penrhos restaurant is the first to be awarded the Soil Association organic stamp) and compare experiences with other mums, while the line of baby monitors flashes around the dining table! At £475 it’s not cheap, but the cost includes two nights’ accommodation (lovely rooms in a beautiful setting), all meals, four gentle yoga sessions, childcare, one treatment, a nutrition lesson, a baby-massage session and a fab goodie bag with organic treats, such as Liz Earle body wash.
