Julia Behrens is a qualified practitioner in Herbal Medicine with a degree from the College of Phytotherapy in Hailsham graduating with honours in 2000. A member of the College of Practising Phytotherapists (MCPP) and with diplomas in Nutrition & Therapeutic Massage Julia has taught at the School of Herbal Medicine, lectured at East London and Westminster University, consulted for the WWF and Neal’s Yard and runs a range of courses in Herbal Medicine.
In 2001 Julia set up the community herb garden Hedgehog Herbs to raise awareness of medicinal plants. Julia also designs small and large gardens, specialising in gardens with a focus on medicinal herbs. Julia is working along side Gp.s and is currently practising at the Herstmonceux Health Centre and at the Albion clinic Brighon. She was recently lectureing on a 7 day crusie with Marco polo around the british isle. On a Gardeners question time cruise With Chris Banes , Andy Hamilton. And last year on - TV- Channel 4 Food unwrapped July series.
Passionate about herbs, healing, conservation and sustainability Julia applies sustainable and holistic principles in both her treatment and practice. She has published articles about the conservation of Medicinal Plants with the European Journal of Herbal Medicine, WWF and Plantlife.
Julia makes many of her herbal preparations herself and as far as possible the herbs she uses are organic and from sustainable and traceable sources.
