It will be hard to narrow down the most important things that I have learnt in the ten glorious years of caring, guiding and listening to new mums at our Mamaheaven Retreats. As founder of Mamaheaven, the most extraordinary element that has stood out and made Mamaheaven such a unique and wonderful experience for both the mothers and ourselves has been the Mamaheaven team. A wonderful group of women that magically came together to create little moments of bliss, care, [...]

Having the honour of working with new mums I sometimes think maybe motherhood is getting easier in the modern world…..maybe? Just today I was helping a Mum prepare for her babymoon and I asked if she used an Electronic Book, as I have noticed they have revolutionized breastfeeding. As it is, this country’s first weekend retreat for mums with babies up to the age of 18 months doesn’t come cheap. But it’s worth it for a [...]

Mamatime

At Mamaheaven we felt it was necessary to create a one-to-one counseling session, known as Mamatime, which is available to all our mothers during each retreat. Pregnancy, childbirth and relationships bring about a variety of emotional challenges. Other issues could include struggling with guilt when you return to work or, conversely, stay-at-home mums feeling they’ve given up too much. Raising confident children and remaining happy yourself in a culture of conflicting expectations and social pressure is a daunting task and [...]
